Sri Vinayaga College of Arts & Science, a Co-Educational Higher Education Institution for Arts and Science which is established by “Vinayaga Educational and Social Welfare trust” at Ulundurpet under the Tamilnadu Government G.O No. 184/dated 28.06.2006 from the academic year 2006 – 2007 affiliated to Thiruvalluvar university, Vellore. At Present the college has 11 departments in all disciplines rangning from fundamental science, Arts, Humanities, Commerce, Social Science, Life Science, Computer Science and Management Studies and aspires to create research and developing wing in all faculties in future. The college is credited by the Secretary Prof.V.GANESAN has rich experience over to decades in the field of higher education and research. The college has the most dedicated, qualified and experienced faculties.
College Campus
The college is situated in Salem, Trichy – Chennai national highway (NH–45), opposite to Ulundurpet Railway Station at Ulundurpet in Villupuram district, Tamilnadu. Ulundurpet – a Taluk headquater of Villupuram Dist in North Tamilnadu and it is connected all the major cities by train tracks and national highways. Ulundurpet is at a distance 125kms from Tiruchirappalli towards Chennai on NH45 and 130 kms from Salem on NH45 towards Chennai and 75 kms distance from Pondicherry. The campus houses schools and departmentsof all major faculties covering arts, science and management studies with 20 acres of lands. The campus with its inposing nulti-storeyed structure, lush green envirornment and calm atmosphere serve, basic science and a playground with 800 meters track with all play fields, indoor and outdoor games. Well maintained green garden, purity drinking water plant and voluminous library are inside the campus.
About Vinayaga Educational and Social Welfare trust
Vinayaga Educational and Social Welfare Trust aims at promoting education to the needy people in the rural area and to uplift the socio and economic status of the weaker section of the society. By offering professional, job oriented and value based education built in discipline.
To realize and fulfil the dreams of the freedom fighter Late Thiru A.T. Ramasamy Udaiyar and Late Smt. P.Dhanapakkiam Ammal, their hereditaries Mr.K.Namachivayam, Chairman and Prof.V.Ganesan, Secretary and Managing Trustee of Sri Vinayaga Educational Institutions, formed the Trust “Vinayaga Educational and Social Welfare Trust” in the year 2006.
At first, the Trust initiated its venture by establishing “Sri Vinayaga College of Arts & Science” at Ulundurpet in the academic year 2006 – 2007.
The trust established new educational Institution namely “Sri Vinayaga College of Education: (B.E.d.,) in the year 2008 – 2009 woth all its infrastructural facilities.
Many higher Educational and Social Welfare Institutions will be established in future.
Apart from the Educational activities, the trust, plan to do many social activities to meet the demands of the society with commitment.
